The confederate cemetery. It is still used for burials today, but I think the info told to us on the trolley tour we took around Fredericksburg said 4300 soldiers were buried there and only 2300 were identified.

Mary Washington's Monument

George Washington's sister's home.

Mary Washington, George's mother-the home he moved her into in Fredericksburg from the family farm when the war started.  It is a museum now. Jeffrey's phone died and we didn't get more pictures in Fredricksburg.  I wanted to tell you about the skinny, little houses there. They remind you of Charleston, South Carolina homes, but smaller. Anyway, they were built narrow across the front and long down the side because homeowners were taxed by the British based on the amount of square footage across the front of the house.  Also, the settlers had to attend and pay the church every week or they were taken into the square and flogged.
