New Point Lighthouse/Shagging/Jamestowne ferry/Smithfield

I'm still learning. I have no idea how a couple of those pictures got on here last time I posted and I don't know how they got so big. I realize I need to proofread my work.

The New Point lighthouse. You will notice it is in the bay.  The shoreline has been changing over the years and with storms it is now in the bay on a little piece of land. This lighthouse was the first commissioned by Thomas Jefferson.

Hard to see but we are on Gwynn's Island. I think this river is the Piankatank. You can't see much but the bridge is swinging open to allow a big fishing boat through.

Shagging at KC's every Thursday night. The food is great, too. It is a few miles out of Kilmarnock about 30 miles away.
We had a big crowd. A group from the yacht
club nearby came.  Of course I have 2 left feet and can't count and step at the same time so Jeffrey was pretty frustrated. Also, lots more women there than men. Maybe it's a place to meet someone of the opposite sex.
This speaks for it's self.

One of the ferry boats that take you across the James River from Jamestown to Scotland.  We were on our way to Smithfield.

Instead of looking for mice like in Greenville, South Carolina, you find the pigs in Smithfield, Virginia-get it?

On the ferry going over. I tried to pull this over when I was showing you the ferry, but couldn't' get it then. You could get out of your car and walk around the upper, enclosed area or the area where the vehicles park. We were in our car, not the RV. The ferry ride was about 25 minutes long, but saves many miles driving time.

Where we ate. Of course we had ham. Smithfield is a beautiful little town with lots of old homes redone to their era. Most of them are on the James River.
Jeffrey with the old woman. We took pictures of the same old woman in Helena, Georgia years ago.  A Taste of Smithfield has an old timey store where you can taste their goodies before you buy.

One of the beautiful, old homes.
