Good morning from New Point Virginia. Jeffrey and I have been here 3 weeks and we love it. For those of you who don't know we sold our house in South Carolina in June and began our travels in our RV. It has been great traveling all over the areas near the Chesapeake Bay. We have seen the history and creative side of Virginia. There are lots of artists who share their wares in all the different towns around. We have visited Mathews, Gloucester, Kilmarnock, Urbanna, Fredericksburg,  Williamsburg, Yorktown, Jamestown and on the eastern shore, Cape Charles. Each place has history dating back to the 1600s with the first inhabitants being John Smith meeting Pocahantas. Also many battles during the Revolutionary War and later the Civil War. Lots of info about our founding fathers. During our travels we've discovered how abundant the waterways are because of so many rivers, lots of shoreline. The temperature has typically been in the high 80s but not entirely uncomfortable. We've parked our RV at the New Point Resort campground near Matthews, Virginia and located in the middle peninsula on the Chesapeake Bay. We travel out in our small car to visit the areas within 2 to 3 hours away. We have learned to stop at the welcome centers to find out what to visit. Our campground has a white sandy beach and a wildlife area.  We've met interesting people. Faye Van der Veer and her husband Bob from Virginia Beach. She is an artist. Look up her beautiful pieces on the internet. They invited us over for wine and we discovered how much we have in common. Other new friends are Cindy and Jimmy Hopkins from Utah. They also sold their home and are traveling fulltime. We loved learning how to paddleboard and kayak with them.
They started their trravels with Jim bicycling from Canada to Mexico. Wow! Bear with me, I haven't determined how to correct all of my mistakes yet. Last night we went over to Kilmarnock to C K's to learn how to shag. Lots of fun. Jeffrey and I already some know-how to dance together somewhat and trying to count the steps seemed to mess up our rhythm but we will keep trying. Actually Jeffrey knows how to dance and I have no rhythm.  We bought tickets for shrimp plates at the Ruritan club tonight. We will see how long I keep up the blog.  However I do want to keep a journal of our travels. Talk to you later.
